Finished my DIP

I have at last finished her. I have a bit of mixed feelings about this doll. I am not entirely satisfied with her. I thought she would look different but she did not turn out as I wanted her to. However I think I am getting better at doing the face entirely with acrylics. I seemed to be able to control my brush strokes better. I did not use gel pens for this doll's face. I only hope my cousin will like her. If not I will have her gladly back LOL! I don't know about you but I always feel a wrench when I part with my projects even if they are not good.

  1. Well Shashi, I think you did a beautiful job painting her face with acrylics! It's amazing to see that doll finished so quickly! WOW! You are FAST! But you know what? I think you aren't going to get her back! LOL! Your cousin will love her!

  5. I'm not sure what you had in your head but what came out of your hands is just wonderful. I think she came out spectacular - I don't think you'll be keeping this little baby!

Is it really only 17 days to Christmas? I haven't even started shopping, sigh. Thanks for the reminder.

  6. I don't see anything about this doll that isn't appealing, this type of thing seems to happen to me a lot lately too, I start with an idea and then things change so the finished doll isn't at all what I had in mind. I think it's a transition we are going through as we learn new techniques, I mean gees all these new products, great stuff to play with, whats a girl to do!? Your cousin is going to love this doll and like Jan said any of us would gladly take her off your hands!

  7. She is gorgeous Shashi... Maybe she didn't turn exactly as your inner eye envisioned her, but that doesn't mean she isn't a success. She is truly beautiful. I love her face, her green eyes, her hair, headpiece, and I love her clothes... especially the bodice! Great job all around.

Have a lovely weekend my friend. (((hugs)))
