Linda's award

Linda Flemming has created this beautiful award and has been kind enough to give it to me and there are no rules for it. You can take it and pass it along to as many people as you want or if you don't want that is ok too. So I am going to pass it along to all the readers of this blog. Please take it because I think all your blogs are divine. Each and everyone of you deserves it. Thank you Linda once again for this beautiful award.

Buttons

I was away this weekend visiting a part of England which was famous for its wool mills. I was expecting to see some shops at least which would reflect its history but I didn't find any. However look what I found. These beautiful ceramic buttons in Cirencester whose Council is promoting various art and craft programmes. We stayed in a little village called Blockley, which was unspoilt. As you can see the streets were devoid of traffic and there was no commercialisation at all. It was all peaceful and a good get away to relax.

I am excited!

I am so excited I am going to take one of Marilyn Radzat's classes. I have always admired her work. She is a great artist. Scultpting with clay is a new skill for me and I am looking forward to learning a few things from this class. I only hope I will do justice to the class. Check out her blog to see her online classes http://wwwmarilynradzat.blogspot.com/. I am also aware that I am rapidly approaching my 200th post. Now I have planned a few give aways but I am not sure when I can do this as I will be away from next week. If I can't organise it before going then I shall come back and do it so stay tuned.

Thank you Linda!!

I was so honored to be given the BFF Gold Card (Blogging Friends Forever) by Linda. Linda I know you said I don't have to link you back but how can I tell others that your blog and the pictures and the art work you share are beautifull so I have got to link you. And according to the rules, I now have to pass it on: Here are the rules - 1. 5 people are allowed to receive this award. 2. four dedicated followers of your blog. 3. one is to be new to your blog and live in another part of the world. 4. please link back to whoever gave you the award
Linda from England, whom I was so lucky to find through another blog. Her artwork is beautiful and inspiring.
Denia my little French friend from Antibes whom I was extremely fortunate to meet as well and who always leaves such lovely encouraging comments for me. I shall not link her until I get her mum's permission to do so, which I can't yet as they are most certainly on holiday.
Isabelle, I don't know how I came by her blog but and when I first read her blog I knew she was not only an awesome seamstress and a stitcher but a lovely person too and I have been very very lucky to have met her in person as well. She is the one who prompted me to start blogging in the first place.
Stef who not only writes about art but also is an awesome artist herself. I am not surprised as she comes from the land of great artists and art Italy.
Nancy shares her travel experiences through her wonderful sketches and paintings in India.
I love reading many blogs but unfortunately I cannot name everyone here.
Thank you each and everyone for your support over the past years. I just realised that I am approching my 200th post. I must do something for it. Not sure what it will be but stay tuned.

In memory of dad

You know sometimes one feels like doing things even if they are not good at it. So it is with me. I felt like doing this collage out of some of the music sheets of dad's. As you know I am not good at this kind of art and yet I had to do it so this is what came out of my heart in memory of my dad...
I used a few bits from his music sheets which were falling apart and some I photo copied. So the collage has his favourite composers names in that cover on the far right. At the bottom 'Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring' that was his favourite piece so I put that at the bottom then I added some dry flowers for rememberance and a sketch of a piano since he was a pianist. Then doodled some music notations. I actually started out with just two colours but soon realised that it would look very dull so I added other colours to make it look a bit more vibrant.

Last Treasures

These are some of the last remaining treasures of my dad. He was a musician and also an avid collector of piano music. Most of his books were donated to the Army school of music where he worked. But a few were left over since they were very old and not in good condition. I decided to bring some of them with me as memerobilia of my dad. I have several sheet music whose pages are lost or torn or just deteriorated with age. I am hoping to do something with some of them so that I can keep them as a keep sake. But these treasures I think I will keep them as they are and try and preseve them. As far as I know I think they are complete but not sure as I don't read music. I will have to find out how I can preserve them from someone who is an expert in these things.

Pics of my doll class in Chennai

I am back and I want to share with you some photos I took in my doll class in Chennai. Again as always I had very talented ladies in my class. What they lacked in experience they sure did make up in their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn doll making. Feast your eyes on these lovely dolls they made.
