I remember this nursery rhyme I think I must have heard it at school or read it in one of the nursery rhyme books at schools. I can't remember it being taught to us. So it's a mystery how one learns them. The other day another one popped into my head and I have no idea how or when I had heard it. But I distinctly remember chanting away with friends. It was about the pumpkin. "Peter Peter Pumpkin eater." I thought I had somehow made it up as a child but when I googled it there is such a rhyme. It is rather dark but who knew all those things in our times. Also I have no idea when or where I had heard/learnt it.Shashi Nayagamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12104875758016386977noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1733008210441451599.post-30748225825205213352017-10-01T10:34:16.635+00:002017-10-01T10:34:16.635+00:00My neighbour's daughter used to collect snails...My neighbour's daughter used to collect snails😀Shashi Nayagamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12104875758016386977noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1733008210441451599.post-9545196533133977872017-09-29T18:04:18.473+00:002017-09-29T18:04:18.473+00:00Beautiful:) The second butterfly is sitting on a p...Beautiful:) The second butterfly is sitting on a plant I had in my yard a few years ago. The wings on the first one look like black velvet while the second one is like a gorgeous patterned scarf.
I used to lie on the grass to watch the insects when I was small. My favourites were ladybirds. Whenever I saw one, I would say;

Ladybird, ladybird fly away home,
Your house is on fire and your children are gone,
All except one,
And her name is Ann,
And she hid under the baking pan.

Funny little rhyme that – I’ve no idea who taught it to me, but I’ve never forgotten it.
Barbarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05962552429792516213noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1733008210441451599.post-38474961215600530202017-09-28T22:34:57.026+00:002017-09-28T22:34:57.026+00:00I use to collect snails as a kid lolI use to collect snails as a kid lolJennifer Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06528908250338974537noreply@blogger.com
