Gypsy kit
Today my Gypsy kit arrived. Di of Fabricaddictions was kind enough to send me a kit. The colours are great but the fabric is definitely not my kind of fabric. Except for the sheer fabric I don't know what I am going to do with the rest. I hope I will get some inspiration soon. The kit was definitely not the same as what we have had in the past. Sorry for the aweful quality of the picture. The dark fabric is a stretch fabric and the yellow is some synthetic fabric. I never use stretch fabrics so this is going to be a challenge. I am sure I will end up using only a minimum amount LOL!

HI Shashi---
ReplyDeleteI think these fabrics and trims are Very nice. I know you'll make something Gorgeous!!!
I ordered a kit years ago and it was AWFUL. The fabrics looked like Christmas. None of the stuff matched, it was terrible. Every year I contemplate on entering the challenge, but then I think of the stuff I had gotten and refrain from ordering.
Best of Luck to you...
Love,
~Nat
I love the colors...I know you will come up with something wonderful.
ReplyDeleteEach year your Gypsy dolls get better and better ... I bet this year will be the same ... you will do something fabulous with these fabrics .. I just know it!
ReplyDeleteShashi,
ReplyDeleteKnits are a bit of a challenge aren't they, but then it is called a 'challenge' for a reason right? I bet this collection really makes you push your limit and you come up with something fantastic (as usual!)
Despite the lack of RED (LOL!) in this packet, I think I rather LIKE the fabrics. I bought a kit 2 years ago and was so intimidated by the fabric I still HAVE it, untouched! But I'm ALMOST tempted to try this one. Shashi, your muse will kick in, and you will make a STUNNING doll! I'd be willing to be money on that!
ReplyDeleteYour Kit of fabric is very pretty and I have no doubt you will come up with a wonderful way to use it... you are soooo talented :)
ReplyDeleteI love the colors shashi but I know what you mean by the texture , they look thin and also kind of squirmy to sew LOL You know you can add to the fabric as long as you use some of what they sent..I see no trinkets , the kits are getting smaller..I had rather send more money and get all the goodies she use to send..but you can add anything of your own ribbon ,trinkets etc...can't wait to see what you come up with!!
