Charm swap

Ok this will be short and sweet. I just wanted to show the lovely charms I received this morning in the post. This was from a charm swap I took part in. All the charms are handmade aren't they lovely? These will be held in safe keeping by The Charmed one doll.

This and that

Yesterday when I looked out of the window this is what I saw. Not a great picture but somehow rainbows gives one a hope of a fine day tomorrow even though the weather forecast is a bit on the downside. I also made a start on my gypsy doll. As you might remember the fabrics I got in the kit to work with are not my cup of tea at all. I really shy away from fabrics that I cannot handle and this blue knit fabric is one of them. So since I have to use this fabric I decided I will use the tiniest of bit possible and so here is how I have used it. I am sorry I can't show the whole figure yet as it is for a challenge and I think it won't be fair for me to show the whole doll yet until the judging takes place. So even though my work has progressed much more than this I can't show it yet. It will be end of October when I will be able to show her. But wish me luck with her as she has really been a challenge to make. I will be away for a bit so until then bientôt

I have been tagged!

I got tagged by Colleen . Thank you Colleen for giving me this award. I am so happy that in a very small way I can help to be supportive through the blog. Now I need to nominate 5 other bloggers who I think are very nice. Most of the bloggers are very nice and I am going to have a hard time picking 5 out of so many. Chris - Who is a very talented crafter from UK and so very supportive and kind in her comments.

Di - An awesome textile artist from down under who has always dropped in with very encouraging comments

Kai - Inspite of all her problems is so full of courage and always has a smile on her face I am sure. Her posts always make me smile.

Kay- Another of UK's very talented textile and clothdoll artist. So glad to meet you through the blog Kay and hope one day we will be able to meet in person.

Jean - Who is an awesome mixed media artist and a lovely person.

Another project finished!

Remember my Paverpol doll which was hung up. Well I decided today I need to make another one for the project I had in mind so this is what I did. I didn't make one but two and I am more or less pleased with them. They will be going into my garden once thy are completely dry. The other one I have thought of something else to do with her. But it will have to wait until I get back from India. For now I am happy that I have managed to finish another project.

Charmed one finished

I finished my Charmed one class doll today and I am really pleased because at last I managed to finish a project. I had a lot of fun with her. I went a bit mad with the bling. If you click on the photo you will be able to see it more clearly. I can't say I am totally pleased with the face but it will do for now. For her hair I used modelling paste. I tried to make a bun at the back but I am afraid it did not rise to the occasion like a cake LOL! This pattern really lends itself to many possibilities. Great class from a great teacher. Thank you Sherry.

Gypsy kit

Today my Gypsy kit arrived. Di of Fabricaddictions was kind enough to send me a kit. The colours are great but the fabric is definitely not my kind of fabric. Except for the sheer fabric I don't know what I am going to do with the rest. I hope I will get some inspiration soon. The kit was definitely not the same as what we have had in the past. Sorry for the aweful quality of the picture. The dark fabric is a stretch fabric and the yellow is some synthetic fabric. I never use stretch fabrics so this is going to be a challenge. I am sure I will end up using only a minimum amount LOL!

Hung up

Today I decided to get into thick of things. So I took out my paverpol and decided to play. This madam was supposed to stand up and look elegant not hang up like this!
How do I get her to stand now? I will have to try something else. Don't know what but something. By the way she is not yet finished.

Wish for 10 arms

Now I wish I had 10 arms so that I could do 10 different projects at the same time. I have been going through this phase where I have started several projects and I am not finishing them. I want to work on all of them at the same time. I have so much crowding in my brain that it is like a traffic jam in there. The standing doll I started sometime ago but only got to the doing the skeleton when I switched to another project. Today I came back to it and gave it a bit of meat but at the same time started the one that is sunning itself on the floor. I worked on the Charmed on as well. Actually I got the arms done for this one but forgot to take a picture. Anyway an arm is an arm so I don't think you are missing much. I think I will name her Flippety Flap. Her ears do stick out don't they. They remind me of the saying 'Little Elephants have big ears' LOL! I don't think we will be talking any secretes in front of her just incase they start flapping LOL! Tomorrow I shall see if I can work on either of these projects or my challenge doll or my petal doll or my Patti Culea doll design class doll or I wonder if I can start.... oh never mind, tomorrow is another day....
