I made this paper doll from a beautiful sketch made and very generously shared by my Italian artist friend Stefania Morgante. Steff draws beautifully. Her drawings are quirky, colourful and fun.
I reduced her sketch and decided to make a paper doll instead of a card as it was meant to be😃. At least I am getting a bit more creative!
At last the head is done. for a body that has been sitting around over a year. Not entirely happy with it but it will have to do. I think I have lost touch not having done much dollmaking for two years. Now I geuss I will procrastinate over it, should I fix the head to the body first and the do the costuming or do the costuming first and then fix the head😀. I usually fix the head first, but the costuming is going to be different for this one so it might be better that I fix the head later . We shall see.
I had a private ornament swap for Christmas with my friend Veronica and she sent me some gorgeous hand made ornaments. Two origami baubles. They look so delicate and decorated with beautiful beads, A little walnut shell which she has cleverly used as a little bed for a tiny bear! And a tiny Christmas stocking that she has embroidered herself. Such delicate work . The photos don’t do them justice.
