Going away

I shall be away for a few weeks. I might be able to post occasionally but if I don't you know that I have not fallen off the edge of the earth lol! I thought I would show you my sewing room before I go. It is all done and organised only problem is now I can't find anything lol!
I wanted to show you this plant because it an amazing plant. I have had it for many years now. It is an Easter cactus. It is just begining to bud and by the time Easter is here it will bloom. The flowers are red in colour. I say it is amazing because I have to date never looked after it. Occasionally in months if I remember I water it like now before going away and as far as I can remember I don't think I have fed it or changed tthe soil and yet it keeps going year after year and produces some lovely flowers.
Take care all and have a lovely Easter those who celebrate and those who will have holidays have a lovely holiday.

Seems like ages

It does seem like ages since I posted. I really didn't have anything interesting to show or post. I am also getting side tracked from my projects. It is one of those things when you want to work on your projects and something or the other keeps cropping up. So forgive me if I have not visited your blog to comment yet. Shall do it as soon as I find a little bit more time this week I hope! Anyway I thought I would show these lovely goodies that I received yesterday from Sesga. I won a prize in her blog give away. She made this lovely little purse in cloth and the darling doll. The doll actually fits into the little purse so I thought she might want to live in there. Thank you Sesga for the beautiful gifties.

Thank you also to Mary O for giving me this award. I am supposed to nominate 10 people for this award. But how can I give this only to 10 people when all of you are my buddies. So I will tag each one of you for this award. Please my blogging world sisters feel free to take this award and display or pass it along.

Hope you all are having a lovely weekend.

Interesting link

I don't know if this link is going to work but I just thought this was an interesting way of embellishing from old sweaters. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QfRHCkpsNk

Portrait class

First of all thank you to everyone who visited my blog and gave your lovely comments on my doll. Really appreciate it very much. This is what I did today. We were asked to sketch the portrait of the head with large scale proportions. I was in half a mind to show you this. My sketches tend to go off the sketching pad/paper for some reason lol! I guess it is because I have always drawn in small proportions so when drawing large everything goes out of scale. So that is why half the head has disappeared from the paper lol! There are several points I notice are not right in this sketch but I am begining to learn a lot about sketching with charcoal. That little thing sticking out next to the neck is not an extra appendage. It was something the teacher was trying to explain to me.

Bombay Dreams..

At last she is ready for her debut on the big screen in Bollywood where she hopes to be the top star! After a long time I have actually finished a doll. Seems like a marathon whew! Her name is Sapana (meaning dream). She is going to CIFI as a table doll. The theme for the conference this year is musicals. So I made her my rendition of 'Bombay Dreams' the musical by Andrew Lyodd Webber and A.R Raman. Hope everyone will like her. Whoever owns her beware she is bit of a bossy boots lol!

Like fabrics I have a penchant for beads. When I see beads I can't resist buying them. I don't bead a lot but I just have to have them. Yesterday I was doing a little bit of beading to my doll and I kept thinking how on earth can I use so many beads. I have so many in different boxes now that to organise them is going to take me ages. Not all of them are as organised as this box. I am cheating buy showing you the most organised box lol!
Just a few more pictures of a beautiful spring day in my garden. But today mother nature gently reminded us that winter is not completely over. We woke up to a frosty morning!
