First time..

My drawing skills are not great so I thought I needed to do something about it. Unfortunately all the beginners courses in the college were booked up by the time I decided that I will take a drawing course. So the only course that I could enroll myself in for the spring term was portrait drawing with charcoal. I really was thrown in in the deep end with this course. We had a live model and here I was, I didn't even know how to do measurements lol!. Everyone else were whizzing away with their portraits. On the first day I couldn't draw much. I spent my time learning to do measurements. This is what I got done on the second day. Now the portrait doesn't look anything close to the model lol! But at least I am beginning to understand the method of drawing a bit if nothing else. The model was difficult to do as she couldn't sit still. Poor lady must have been exhausted modeling the whole day that she kept nodding off or changing position. I found that drawing is very intensive when you have to do it by measurements when you are not used to doing it that way.

  6. I taught my daughter how to draw for part of her homeschooling, and was amazed at her progress. I'm sure you will be too, and you're off to a great start btw.
