Little something

I saw this peeping out of the bushes today. When the stalks started growing on this plant I didn't think they were very attractive and was wondering if I should remove this plant but after seeing this I don't think I will. I rather think the tiny flowers are very attractive. I have no idea what the name of the plant is.

    Honestly I thought that was a white caterpillar and kept looking for the flowers and then decided to enlarge it and yes I see it isn't a caterpillar!!

    i don't know the name of the plant either but it sure is pretty and unusual. at first glance, i thought it was a white caterpillar too.

    I don't recall the botanical name, but I think the common name is
    bottlebrush plant . . .

    The closest I can find in garden books is a plant called snakeroot, aka bugbane. Botanical names are Cimicifuga racemosa, Simplex or Davurica. Likes rich moist soil and shade, blooms July/August in USA. Described as having shiny leaves and long slim white flower spikes. devorah@windstream.net
