Waiting

So here is my sculpt my mould and the final paper clay face. I am now waiting for it to dry.  Then sand it and hopefully a doll will be in the making soon. I think I will make another one a bit smaller. I thought this was small but it turned out bigger than I thought it would. Well I am learning :-)

  2. Haven't done any sculpting of faces for ages. Do you use Siligum Shashi?

  3. Thank you - I thought it looked like the silicone mix stuff I use. I'm a bit wary of polymer clay as I don't like to use my oven for it any more, so initial sculpts are more difficult:) Your face looks fab.

  4. Lovely face, and it'll shrink a bit as it dries so it might not end up too big. If you want a smaller one, take a temporary mould of this one, let it dry (it's paperclay, so you can soften it up again with water) and press out another face. When that's dry it'll be noticeably smaller than the original head.

Oh, and if you want to speed up drying, an oven that's cooling down will do it. I wish someone had told me that when I started using paperclay!
