I have not been able to blog much lately because i have been trying to get over my jet lag and also I have been busy trying to write up a pattern for Appleberry. After seeing my doll in FB many ladies wanted me to write a pattern for it to buy. Now usually when I make a doll I rarely make notes as I don't sell my patterns.. I just do rough drawing and that's about it. Since so many people requested me to do a pattern for this doll I decided to finally do it. So I have had to make the doll all over again and take notes and write it all down. As you can see chaos reigns on the table at the moment and I am trying desperately to finish writing up. Hopefully I will get it done this weekend if nothing interrupts me. Shall visit blogs once all this mad rush is over.
Oh, I don't miss drafting patterns - at all! Good luck Shashi, I hope it's going well!x
ReplyDeleteHope it will do well Jules keep your fingers crossed
Deletethats greawt that people want the pattern to try themselves :D
ReplyDeleteI am honoured that they want to try it Jen
DeleteNice to have so many wanting a pattern - sounds like a heck of a lot of work to me but your work is so beautiful - you will make many people happy to get it.
ReplyDeleteI have done it now and oh boy it was hard work since I am not familiar with writing documents. It was a huge learning curve
DeleteHi Shashi, my desk frequently looks like that, and in fact, my entire office is looking like it at the moment. I’ve decided to transform the space into a playroom for our grandchildren – you have no idea the fun I’m having or the mess I’m making!! I’ve been moving ‘stuff’ out and different ‘stuff’ in for weeks. It is beginning to look like a playroom, but it still has a way to go.
ReplyDeleteIt will be interesting to see how closely your second doll resembles the first one. I would imagine no two dolls can ever look exactly the same as they each have their own individual personalities. Or is that me being fanciful?
Have a good rest of the week x
Barbara two dolls from the same pattern by the same artist never really look alike but there are usually similarities. I will put up the picture of the other prototype. I have not had a chance to give him a stand to take a picture
DeleteIt only looks bad because you are accomplishing "stuff" ..... it's all good.
ReplyDeleteI haven't made a doll for years now..... but, a friend wants to make an Alice in Steakmpunkland doll....and, so...I said okay..... we begin on Wednesday. Let's see how that all goes.... yikes.... there are 42 pages of instructions....
I am sure you will do a good job of it. You have a natural talent. Although I must say that 42 pages of instructions would even daunt someone who is not faint hearted. It certainly would daunt me. Hope you enjoy making it.
DeleteHi Shashi. I too will be looking forward to the pattern. Appleberry is such a great character doll. Feel happy that so many of us are eager to make one of our own thanks to your talent and creativity..;o)
ReplyDeleteYou won't have long to wait Ramona
