Today I want to show you some very cute pop up books that I bought. I feel like a little child when I look at them. I think any child would really enjoy these books. Here are some pages from the books. They have so many pockets of tiny pop ups which is a joy to open and look.
those are wonderful books :D
ReplyDeleteYes I love them and I think the pop ups have been done beautifully
DeleteHi Shashi, they are truly lovely. I’ve got the wonderful Wizard of Oz (same version as you). I like the look of the Alice one, so I'm going to keep a look out for that.
ReplyDeleteDoes it say who illustrated the nursery rhyme book? The front cover and the last image look like they could have been done by Janet & Anne Grahame Johnstone, not sure about the soldiers it looks very different to me.
You are absolutely right Barbara it is illustrated by Anne Grahame Johnston. 😀
ReplyDeleteGosh I'm good! Only kidding, there illustrations are very striking and easy to spot. xx
Deletewow, enjoyed seeing these. It reminds of about six to seven years ago i would buy childrens books at thrift stores because i loved the illustrations. My book collection of those filled four shelves on a bookcase about 7 feet tall and at least 4 feet wide. When we sold our house I sadly carted them all off to a thrift store because "in the moment" I wanted to start new - declutter everything ...i gave away all my other books too except for my self help and metaphysical type books. Could kick myself once in awhile when I want some inspiration from kids books. Really enjoyed this post.
ReplyDeleteI can understand about collecting kids books for inspiration. I wish I had mine too which I had to leave back home when I got married. Mum gave them all away. I was so sad. I don't have many books here as in the UK the houses are pretty small compared to the US . So there isn't much storing space. I have de cluttered my doll magazines which I collected when I was learning to make them. I do buy children's books every now and then especially the ones that remind me of my old books and the ones that give inspiration but not many.
Delete6 feet x 4 feet and 5 shelves as I think more about it now - ..the bookcase is also gone, lol. along with three big oak book cases and two big desks, ouch.
ReplyDeleteGosh that must have been lots of books. I did not have anywhere near that many.
DeleteI love pop up books. You can get some very intricate ones now days
ReplyDeleteYes there are some really lovely ones around .
