Saga of the hands

 Well the saga of the hands for my doll kept going 😅 must have made at least 4 pairs . Last one was ok but it was so out of proportion to the doll especially the palms looked weird so had to discard that. The 5th and the final one,not very satisfactory but i will have to use it as i have run out of that colour fabric. I could try and paint the fabric if I used a white fabric put I don’t like the idea so these ones will have to do.

It’s begun to look like Christmas

 I decided not to do much decorating as I don’t get much time now a days . Also it’s hard work. I have disposed off a lot of my decorations too. Had to downsize in every department when we moved house. 

Disaster day

 Well I have been trying to make a doll but I am having such a hard time with her arms. I have never had this problem before. Could be I am just out of touch. First set of arms I blew the fingers. Second set the fingers were too thin so just couldn’t get them to turn. Third set I drew the palms separately onto the pattern . Unfortunately I didn’t notice that I had copied it the wrong way round so that the little finger was pointing up. I only noticed it when I started stuffing it. I was so annoyed with myself. Hope the fourth time will be lucky. But so much of time wasted. I wanted to get on with it and finish it before Christmas but now it is looking highly unlikely.😒

Anyway to calm myself I did another ornament from one of the pine cones picked from the garden.

I made another ornament and as you can see I added some hair to it. Thought it looked better so added some to the red one too. Next I hope to start on my unfinished doll that has been hanging around for ages. I was going to make a fairy out of her but now I am having second thoughts. I usually make a christmas doll each year so I am now thinking maybe I should make an angel. I don't think I have time to make another doll.

2 more Christmas ornaments

I am desperately trying to keep my creative juices flowing. Otherwise I just seem to get bogged down. With all thats going on around the world one just so depressed. Thank goodness I have my craft . So here is another tassel doll and a little pine cone fairy.  After we moved into our new house , we realised that we are stuck with a huge big pine tree which is in our neighbours property. Its a lovely tree but the amount of mess it throws in our garden is unbelievable. At present we are getting showered with pine leaves. Come spring we will get showered with the cones. Then the squirrels will be nibbling the pine nuts and throwing them at us🤣. There is nothing we can do as it is a listed tree , so it is what it is. I collected some cones to make something out of them . Threw away a huge bin load of cones. Seems a pity but what can you do when there is a pine cone overload 😁. Anyway here is a cone fairy ornament. I have reused stuff on it. Hair is a bits of the cone the other bits are from some old decoration pieces. I tend to collect broken bits of decoration so that I can use it on my dolls. This one is going to my doll club round robin. Hope they will like it, whoever gets it.

 

Very small project

 Just a small project. A tassel doll  that I created as a daily dose of creativity, when I am not in the right place to create something. This is very simple to make which I might put it up for our secret santa for the Christmas party in our doll club

So I made a little bit more progress. Since I am just making it up as I go , I am learning along the way what I should have done, and what I have done  wrong 😊.  As you can see it is not perfect. When I do another one I shall know how to do it the easier way☺️

Just a little doll house

 Just started a new project. I don’t know how its going to turn out as I am just winging it from what I have seen in the internet. There are people selling patterns and instructions but I decided to try it on my own. Hopefully it will turn out ok😀

Arum lily takes shape after a long time

 

Hello all . Hope you all are keeping well and creating  Well time has run away without my realising it. Things have been happening this end which has taken most of my time. I managed to complete this doll after a long time. It was in the back burner since 2020. I still have a tiny bit of tweaking to do. I call her Arum because her skirt is in a shape of  Arum lily . I used all the felt pieces that I had made in an online class during the Covid period from A for artistic .  Hope you like her if you are reading this. I don’t expect anyone is though as it has been a long time since I have posted

Adorable book end

 I was looking for a book end found this adorable book end. Isn’t he cute. Now I can organise my book. It is taking ages to organise my stuff after the move. I don’t know when I will be able to get everything sorted

Christmas angel done

My Christmas angel done at last in a flurry. All because I am finally moving yeah. I might colour the flowers so that they match the colour scheme of the doll. Once I am settled I will do that. This was a doll from Sherry Goshan’s class. I had a hard time making her smile. She is too serious for an angel😄. I will have to see what I can do later. Think I might lost touch a bit with my face painting.   Her skirt is made out of two plastic wine glasses. Rest of the body is made from paper clay and her hair is tassels .

 

Just working on my Christmas doll. It is going very slow but that’s life. It gets in the way. 

 

Christmas angel

 I have always tried to make one doll every year for Christmas. So this year even though all my stuff is packed away I did not want to miss making one. Sherry Goshan had a class for an angel which did not require much sewing so I decided to take this class. Still some way to go but its slowly taking shape.

That time of the year coming up

 December is marching on us rapidly and we are coming to that time of the year when everyone starts gearing up for festivities. Our doll club has a get together every year. We bring finger food and have some fun time together. We are going to have our secrete santa again this year. This is what I am making. Its a pin cushion.  She is not complete yet but thought would share. I will complete this when I get home

Bologna

After a long time after Covid, we decided to go to this charming little city. We were not disappointed. Like many Italian towns it feels so vibrant. Bologna has the oldest university in the world and the only city in the world where the professors are given the highest honour even more than a national leader or a hero. 

What a change it makes after I come across so much of oohing and aahing over a political leader as though they are Gods. 

Removing fb friends

 Today I was going through the friends list on my fb account.  I do this from time to time just to make sure there is no one there who is not supposed to be there. As I went through the list I found several friends whom I had to remove. It was so sad. These were friends who had passed. As I removed the names I felt a pang in my heart remembering them and how and where I had met them and had some lovey time together. It is a very sad feeling when you realise that they have gone away forever.

Not much happening here

 I thought I would be in my new home by now but unfortunately that has not happened yet. It will probably be in September now. So my crafting is not happening. Thank goodness I have my piano with me otherwise  I honestly would have gone a bit mad. Now I drive my husband and my piano teacher mad😂. My piano teacher has great faith in me and says I will be playing in concerts in 20 years time. So I told him he is too optimistic because I probably will be pushing daisies in 20 years time😂😂
