For a change

For a change I have been doing up a frame for my ribbons that my hubby made for me. At first thought I thought that I would leave it in its natural colour but then I found that the wood was not smooth and had a lot of splinters. Since I cannot sand because the dust affects my sinuses and so does my hubby i decided the next best thing to do is decoupage it. So this is what I have been doing. It is taking ages as I have to do it in stages for it to dry. Specially around the hooks it is fiddly. Then I think I will end up doing the same to the rollers too if I find it is too plain. We shall see.

Beads, beads and more beads!

I am still organising my beads, oh joy! I am a fan of crystal beads but did not know I had so many!. They keep coming from every where😀 I have had to go and buy more boxes to put them in. Will they ever stop multiplying😀😀😀

My RR doll and weather

Recently I took part in a Round Robin with a UK group. My doll came back to me yesterday and I am so thrilled with it. All the ladies did a wonderful job with her. What a talented group they are. 

Today the weather went a bit backwards after having such a beautiful spring week. The temperatures dropped from 13 degrees to -1 degrees and we have had snow flakes drifting all through the day. Luckily it has not been heavy so it has not settled too much.

Yesterday walking in the warm sunshine in my garden i spotted these frog eggs in the pond. I wonder if they survivrd the cold. I can’t imagine that only yesterday it was so warm and today it is sub zero temperatures. I saw some of last years baby fish. They have grown but they have not changed colour yet. I expect they will do so in the summer.

Slowly getting there

I have been away again from my blog this was due to being away visiting mum. After I got back things have been hectic. Finally I have started arranging my craft room. Sorting things out is a nightmare. I am down sizing and getting rid of a lot of things. There are things I did not know I had and some things that I don’t know why I bought.😀 I am getting there slowly. I hope to get back to blogging soon “My Famous Last Words”😀!

Pattern ready

I have been absent for several reasons and one of them is because I cannot find a proper blogger uploader for ipad or the i phone for pictures. The one i have keeps playing up and if i try it from the website it becomes a pain to up load as i have to do it via google drive. I just don’t want to upload through other apps. I rather do it straight from my phone or ipad photos through the main site itself. Anyway what i have at present is the only one that is available that seems to work a bit sigh. I just don’t know why google decided to remove its own platform that was working so well on the PC as well as the ipads and phones.

After a long time I managed to write up the pattern for this doll and she is now available  at present from Dollmakers journey.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Pickles!

This is Pickles. He is Santa’s absent minded helper. He has lost the all important list that Santa gave him, so he has got himself in a bit of a twist. Unlike his twin who is very meticulous and goes over lists with a fine tooth combe, Pickles is always losing things .

He has searched for it high and low

And in his favourite storing place behind his ears but he cannot find THE LIST.

I suspect he has it tucked behind in his PJs and forgotten about that storing place😄

I took part in a fabric swap where we swap fabrics and make a doll out of the fabrics that your partner sent. This is what I came up with.😄

Destressing

I am trying to destress. Started several of these dolls just to keep my ming occupied. Mum fell last week. Luckily I had just come out of the shower so heard her call out. She hurt her head but thank goodness nothing serious. Have to get some eye procedure done hope she will be ok. 

Too scared to let her alone at home now. But sometimes it is not possible to be there all the time. So I just started these to keep myself occupied 😄.

I hope I will be able to finish them and they won’t hang around too long.
