Couldn’t resist

Today I went to the shops. I never meant to buy anything but couldn’t resist buying  this fabric ,story of my life😄! It is so gorgeous that I had to buy it. The colour is antique looking cream with antique coloured embroidery and pearls and sequins on it. The picture doesn’t do it any justice . Now i have to think what i am going to use it for. Or rather what themed doll should I make it for . The first thought that came to me was a fairy queen dress or Cinderella or an angel. What do you think? 

Passing time

I was sitting and talking to mum. There is not much i can talk to her about now a days as she cannot hear properly and she repeats herself. So somtimes i just sit near her and let her conversation flow over me😄. Today i just sat and doodled while she sat and hummed to herself.

I will probably do the oranges again as i dont like what indid today.

Another one finished

Well it did take me long to finish this tiny doll. Gosh so many distractions on the way. Should have finished it quick but it was nt to be. Anyway she can grace my tree this year😀

Finished another one

So I managed to finish another tiny doll. I have one another tiny doll which I made long time ago and I am going to include that to the group to make up the 5 tiny dolls. I don’t think I have time to make another  new one now.  Now they can all be sent away. 

When I have time I plan to make more of these tiny ones as they are such fun to make.

How time flies!

How time flies and we are already well into the New Year. I think I can still wish you all a Happy New Year. 

Many things have been happening down my end since the start of December 2018. I came back from India after visiting mum and my hubby caught the Tammy flu. Because he has other health issues he became seriously ill. While he was recovering I got the same flu. I wish and hope no one ever gets it as it is hell. Anyway we both recovered a bit by Christmas and were able to spend a quiet Christmas. However soon after Christmas my hubby was taken ill again and had to be hospitalised for a week. He had to be given antibiotics intravenously as the bug he had was resistant to most antibiotics. After a week he was discharged and he felt better too. Just when we were thinking all was going to be well the infection reappeared so he is back on the same antibiotics. This time they did not admit him in hospital instead we had to make a daily trip to the hospital which was very exhausting. Now they have taught us how to administer the antibiotics on our own which is much better as it saves us driving to and fro to London just to get antibiotics. He is still on medication and may be on it for some time but the good mews is he is feeling much better now. 

So with all these going ons I have not had the energy or the inclination to do much hence I seemed to have missed wishing you all for Christmas and new year. 

I had joined a swap for doll ornament so have to honour some of the commitment I took on. We had to make 5 little doll ornamenys but I have been only able to make 3 of them. I couldn’t even do full justice to them. Here they are. Sorry for the bad photography, hope whoever gets it will like them.

Small fairy

This fairy is rather small. Smaller things are harder to finish I find. As always, I get interrupted so couldn’t finish her as quickley as I had hoped. Have to start another one soon. Its all happening suddenly and as usual time is running away and Christmas is almost on top of us. I hope I can get it all done by next week. Well at least finish up one of them.

This lady turned out larger than I thought she would. I used a strech fabric so her legs became rather slim and long . She is about 30cm big. I have to embellish her now. I will make another one with cotton and see how big she turns out. I think her face will be a challenge to make as it will be pretty small.  If it does turn out good then I will make it into a pattern.

Ready for Christmas

At last my Santa is all done. Maybe he needs to carry a bit more pressies that is all.😀

Santa coat is finished

Santa’s coat is done and now onto the doll. I added the trim which doesn’t seem to photograph too well but I think it did the trick of disguising the small difference of height and it looks looks nice as well.

Coat almost done

I have been trying to finish my Santa for the past 2 years. Finally the overcoat is almost done after much wrestling with the fabric.😄 Gosh that velvet is not easy to work with. The coat came out ok except that the back piece has become a wee bit longer. Have to put my thinking cap and see how to disguise it. I could easily use some white furry trim  to cover it but I really don’t want to use white that is my problem. I would like to use brown furry fabric or trim but I don’t have that and I really don’t want to buy anything but use what I have in my stash. If nothing works then I look forward to shopping 😀😀

Introducing Mr. Shroom and friend Twiggy

First of all I have to have a bit of a moan at blogger. I am again not able to post comments in blogs because blogger refuses to recognise me. When I come to comments it logs me out. When I  try to login it takes me to my all posts page directly, when I  try to logout from there I am unable to logout. I don’t know if I am making sense but the long and short of it is blogger is being a pain. So I am sorry I am not able to post comments or reply to your comments .

Hope it will sort out soon . Anyway moving on I managed to complete this project at last. I had a little bit of creative block. Couldn't figure out for sometime how to do the underside of Mr Shroom. It is such a simple project yet I struggled. I still have not got the face fixed as I wanted it to.

If I make this project again I will definitely do it differently to get a better look.
