Corrected a little bit

 So here is what I have done with the head now. Like the digital drawing I have brought the brows down a bit. I think I like it better. Still some work to be done but it’s getting there slowly. I have to start thinking how I am going to make her up. I think it will be a her.😄

An experiment

 As I was pondering how I should alter the sculpted head I got an idea to see how it would look if I drew over the image digitally. Itwould give me some idea as to how to proceed rectifying it. So here it is

So you can see what i have done. I thought the brows needed to come down a bit. Which will give the head a bit more forehead. I think I still need to rectify the eyes a little bi. But first i will do what I have drawn here. I like it better this way. I know it looks weird with the bright yellow but one has to imagine it white. I tried to draw the eyebrows but I couldn’t do it well so i rubbed it off.

Loosing my marbles?

 Its almost end of February! I thought I had posted in the new year but I just can’t remember. Maybe I did not post or has something eaten up my post😀?

Well I hope you all have been keeping well and safe. Have you all had your vaccines yet. I have had my first dose. All is good. If not hope you get it soon. 

I have not done much of craft work lately. I have intended to but either I could not find my pattern or when I found my pattern i did not have the right fabric. When i got the right fabric my pattern did the disappearing act. Then when i did manage to find it again and made a start i did not like the body fabric colour. So you see the end result is I have nothing to show. 

The other day I found this head which I had discarded because at that time I did not like it very much. Now when I look at it I think I can use it with a little bit of alteration. I am hoping I can get it right this time. 

This is the head at present. If you can add any constructive criticism I will be delighted to have them

Happy New Year!

 Do you find that inspite of this pandemic and most of us being stuck at home the year seems to have flown away. Thank goodness for our creativity, our friends and loved ones, neighbours and modern technology that we have been able to get by fairly ok. I know many have not been that fortunate so I really am thankful for all I have which has helped my get through this year. 

Now that we can see a light at the end of the tunnel lets pray and hope and wish that next year will be a more normal one. At the same time lets also not slip back to the old way of life but go into the new year being the new people that many of us have become. Being more considerate having community spirit, being kind in little ways no matter how small. Helping out in whatever way we can. Lets hope and pray that we do not forget what we all have gone through or going through. So here’s wishing everyone a Very Happy and Blessed New Year. We are not out of the woods yet but lets keep on fighting to get through this together.

I don’t have a New photo to share . This is from some years ago but still the same message  every year and we wish that the New Year will bring a better year for all. Every year we start with optimism and so lets continue to do so. So have a Merry Christmas and a very Happy, Healthy and a Peaceful year.  Keep taking care of yourselves and I shall talk to you in the New Year.

 

Dimensional art finished

 Ok so I finished this just before Christmas. I would have finished it earlier had I not messed the first board up. But never mind I will use that to create something else.

This project looks a bit like a Christmas card but thats ok I had fun creating as it was easy and simple to do. The theme is a very common Christmassy theme so I won’t be surprised if someone else has already done it. But I can assure you I have not copied it. I have thought it out from the layout to the making of it on my own . Did not look at any card or any such thing.  So hopefully no one will say I copied it. 

Here is the messed up board but I can use it for something else. Lucky that I had a spare one that I could use. Or I could just say that it is modern art.😀. Maybe one day it might find its way to the Tate gallery in London and people will be standing in front of it and mulling over it and  trying to find the hidden artist statement in it😂😂

 

On my table

 This is what I am doing now. I hope it turns out the way I see it in my head. Just waiting for everything to dry before I sand it and start mounting it. I think I should have got a bigger canvas. If I find time I shall see if I  can get something bigger. But first all these need to be dry.

My fairy for the tree. FREE PATTERN

Fairy pattern

 I decided to make a fairy for my tree. She is called Mist. She is about 10 inches. Made her in rather subdued  colours which is not what I wanted but I so wanted to use the lovely fabric so that is what dictated the colours. I am also making the pattern available free as a Christmas gift for anyone interested to make one. The challenge is if I can upload the file or not. Sorry I am not able to upload yet but will try again later. Have to find out a bit more about uploading a pdf file.

I could not upload it as a pdf . I have also been very upset regarding this as when I posted the pattern in my doll group one well know designer piped up and made a comment which I think she was inferring that I had copied her pattern. This pattern is nothing very complicated to draw which anyone who has a little bit of drawing skill can draw it up without thinking even. Also one can draw a simple doll body only in a few ways no rocket science involved here. I didn’t even know that she had a similar pattern as I don’t collect patterns of each designer. Anyway some of my other doll friend who has her pattern has said that mine is not like hers the over all shape a bit like hers but  like I said how many other ways can you draw a simple body like this? When people make comments without thinking it is hurtful. I do not make dolls to compete or get compliments I just do it for my pleasure. And because it gives me pleasure I like to share in a little way, by giving something to people who would like to make my dolls.

Sorry for the rant it spoilt my weekend and I have felt very hurt.  So I redid the post again . I hope you can print this pattern if you want. If you cannot please drop me a line i can send it to you by

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tree is up

I can hardly believe that we have almost come to the end of the year and Christmas is almost here. I put my tree and some decorations up. After being shut indoors for the best part of the year if you ask me how did you spend your time? I honestly couldn’t tell you. I have always found things to do. There have been lots of moments of frustration but me and my hubby have got through some anxious and bad time in this pandemic. Have managed to be optimistic and kept ourselves busy. So as we await the vaccine’s arrival we can see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.  Lets hope and pray that the vaccines changes things. In the  meanwhile we keep being creative to keep ourselves sane. 

 

Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum are done!

At last I am done with Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum. I bet they are happy too. Such simple dolls and it has taken me nearly a year to complete. I think my mojo is coming back after going on a long holiday😀
