Going away

I shall be away for a few weeks. I might be able to post occasionally but if I don't you know that I have not fallen off the edge of the earth lol! I thought I would show you my sewing room before I go. It is all done and organised only problem is now I can't find anything lol!
I wanted to show you this plant because it an amazing plant. I have had it for many years now. It is an Easter cactus. It is just begining to bud and by the time Easter is here it will bloom. The flowers are red in colour. I say it is amazing because I have to date never looked after it. Occasionally in months if I remember I water it like now before going away and as far as I can remember I don't think I have fed it or changed tthe soil and yet it keeps going year after year and produces some lovely flowers.
Take care all and have a lovely Easter those who celebrate and those who will have holidays have a lovely holiday.

I hope you will be home in time to see the blooms on your cactus. I have one that blooms at Thanksgiving.

  14. Your sewing room is so pretty and neat!

I have never heard of an easter cactus before- how interesting! Kind of resembles an xmas cactus only the the stems (or whatever they are called) are larger. Would love to see a picture of it in bloom- hint, hint-LOL!

Have a great trip. I look forward to your return.

You can read more about the Easter and Christmas cacti differences at this link - http://cactus.biology.dal.ca/paulS/christmas/christmas.html I actually thought they were the same plant too until I read this info.
