All done
I have finished this painting. Couldn't get it uploaded yesterday as too many things were going wrong. Firstly my camera was not working properly then the computer got invaded with viruses ,thankfully a friend who looks after our computer was able to sort it out last night.
Anyway here it is. I tried to follow the book as much as possible but I did not have any of the distress inks or the paints that the author has used but I used other stuff instead. I used a lot of metallic rubs where ever she has used ink pads. The paint colours are slightly different as well but I think that is what art is about. To use what you have to create art and this turned out ok I think.
I also did not use the method of making the heart as in the book as I thought it was easier and quicker to use paperclay to make the heart or I guess any other airdrying clay would do even though I did have the plaster. Then I had to add those dry flowers to cover up some mistakes which looks ok but in the picture it doesn't seem that nice.

It's very sweet. I'm sure that there will be a squeal of delight when the present is opened.
ReplyDeleteturned out wonderful :D love the shiny wings :)
ReplyDeleteits better that you don't follow books exactly, makes what you create unique :)
Even when I try Shashi, I can NOT follow instructions to the letter, and I'm glad you don't either. I love her pose. I see a lot of this type of art around lately -- yours is different and especially well done. Have you named the piece?
ReplyDeleteShashi, it turned out just beautiful! Your niece will love it. Great job!

Shashi, I think this work is just terrific! i always find that when I finish something I find all kinds of things I'd like to do differently. If I just put away for a few days I can see it with fresh eyes. My fresh eyes just love this! Cheers, Sue
ReplyDeleteShe is great Shashi...the idea is to learn technique and adjust it to you needs and style.
ReplyDeleteYou did a wonderful job you are a wonderful artist in you own right.
I love your music.
Fabulous work Shashi....be very proud!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out lovely, Shashi...especially her gold-tipped wings. I think it's great that you substituted with your own paints/mediums when you didn't have the ones used in the book. The book is only meant as a guide anyways so you did very well ~ :)
ReplyDeleteshe's great Shashi....I love the little gilded bits.... but, then, I'm into glitz and bling...and lovely old gold..... mmmmmm.....
