Angela suggested doing some simple embroidery on the skirt and I think what she has done is so beautiful and affective. This is what I started. Not much of a photo and I am so rusty with regards embroidery that even these simple stitches look as though a child has done it!. It must be at least 40 or more years since I picked up a needle to embroider. The last I remember doing was when I was at school where it was compulsory for us to learn a few needle work, sewing, knitting skills. The idea is to do some simple stitching. Since I can do this sitting on the bed I quiet enjoyed it. I have to find some thread for the flowers now as I could not find the right colour in the charity shop. By the way charity shops are a great place to shop for craft projects. You never know when you will come across something that is so right for your project.
Well you know how much I love to see hand embroidery! This is a lovely idea and I think it will add a perfect touchl. Your stitching looks good to me! I am glad you have found something you can manage to do at the moment. . How's your poor back - are you feeling any better? Do hope so! x
ReplyDeleteThanks Jules my back is getting better but I have to be so careful or else I start feeling twinges again
DeleteI think it's a great idea and you have a good start. I remember too, way back when learning embroidery and I loved it - I remember doing a kit - a birthday sampler with flowers, numbers, etc. it was so fun and i've often wished I could find it - i have no idea whatever happened to it. I'll look forward to your progress
ReplyDeleteIt is fun doing it after such a long time and I am not using a pattern , just going with the flow.
ReplyDeleteI think you have the making of something really great here Shashi. I'm sure those skills will come back to you very quickly. I’m off to the charity shops this morning, wish me luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks Barbara hope your trip to the charity shops was productive and hope you found some treasures. Look forward to hearing about it
