Sketching away
I have a clematis in England which has a very similar flower to this climber. Only the leaves seem to be different and it has no fragrance. This one I sketched is in India. The leaves are nothing like the one I have in England, but it is a climber and it has a lovely fragrance. I don't have a clue what it's name is. It could be an Indian clematis if there is an Indian clematis. I wish I knew.

ReplyDeleteThanks Sandy. I am enjoying sketching flowers at the moment.
Deletethere is a Clematis called Star of India I think, but not sure if it originated from India
ReplyDeleteyour skills are fine :) stop stressing about that
Thanks Jen. Yes someone else thought t might be star of India so you may be right.
DeleteLoving your floral sketches! Fantastic that you're dong these Shashi.x
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Jules
DeleteOH, this sketch is lovely, Shashi! Can't help you with the name though. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Serena. I really am flattered when such an accomplished artist as you thinks my sketch is good
DeleteI too thought your pretty flower could be a Clematis Star of India but looking online I can only find purple ones. I did find one called White Anemone Clematis, the leaves of that one look similar to your painting, but they are a dark-green – so now I’m not sure. Either way your painting is lovely, wish I could do something even half as good.
ReplyDeleteThank you Barbara. I wish I could paint better than this. I so admire people who do beautiful sketches with water colours
