Got disappointed

Last year while I was shopping I came across these hand tissues. Usually when there is a design on the covering the tissues also have the same design on them. I thought the same was the case with these ones so I went and bought them as I had an idea what I would do with them. Unfortunately today when I wanted to opened them they were all plain inside☹️
What I had in mind was that I would cut out and paste the images on some surplus stitched heads that I have left over from my long time ago class doll's.
I was greatly disappointed. It also would have been a kind of experiment to see how it would work out for doll's . Oh well it was not to be so I decided to draw a similar face on this head. I generally do the head last in a doll but this one I am starting the other way round. Now I have to make arms and legs. I will I think stick to the theme Frozen.

  1. Hi Shashi, that must have been so disappointing! I’ve come across the same thing in the past, and it always makes me feel like writing to the manufacturers, but of course I never do.
Actually, you’ve done such a fine job with the face you didn’t need the tissues, but that’s not really the point.

  2. Barbara I wanted to be lazy for once and stick the ready made face on. I thought I could make several of them quickly then they could be ready as gifts to give away. But now I don't think I can do any mass production so not many gifts will be made I am afraid😄

  3. I do remember the tiny tissues use to have patterns on them but haven't seen that for awhile, probably due to costs :/

    1. Yes could be the reason. I should have checked . Never mind the tissues are useful anyway

  4. Oh, Shashi, another beautiful face by you! She's lovely. I am so impressed that you do the head last. I have to do the head first or I don't know who she wants to be!

    1. Thanks Sue. I always seem to do the face at a later date because that way even if the head gets handled often one cannot smudge the face painting.

  5. That is disappointing, but I'm sure your face is much better than the commercial one anyway. I love it. I like to do my head last too because it's the most fun for me.

    1. Thanks Linda. I do the face last because after painting I don't want to handle the head too much

  7. Shashi, I love this face! Sort of a little smirk...perfect.
l love doing the heads and have to say I do them first... mostly I size the rest of the body parts to the size of head ..although you can always do it the other way around too..

I end up with extra heads always... til I get one I like.

Should be finished the re-building in another month... Greg and I are doing the new suspended ceilings ourselves..we tore out the damaged drywall and decided to do the rest of the rooms in suspended tiles like the main tv room.

  8. Do you spray the painted heads with Krylon to set it and protect it? I've touched mine many times after using that and they are as perfect as the day I painted them.

    1. I spray it with Windsor and Newton fixative for pastels, charcoal and pencils. It works for me and so far my painting has remained fresh.
