Some photos of Rocky Mountaineer holiday

Here are some pictures of my holiday. There was however one disappointment which i was hoping would get remedied but unfortunately it did not happen. I did not see a single Bear!☹️. That was my greatest disappointment of the otherwise a wonderful trip.
This was in Vancouver

The steam clock in Vancouver

The salmon hatchery in Vancouver

Were sent off right royally as we chugged away slowly in the train

You can see how hazy the mountains looked with the smoke from the forest fires.

Up in the mountains the air cleared after some rains

Birds eye view of our hotel from the mountain top

View from the hotel window

Ice fields the Athabasca glacier

Loved this mountain with its unusual shape

Hope you enjoyed some of my pictures

  1. It looks wonderful - shame about the bears - but beautiful none the less.

  2. Exciting vacation! I was following on facebook. Your pictures are fabulous! I am scared of bears myself. Glad you had a nice time and sorry the fires made so much smoke. Being in Northern California I have been living with smoke from fires for months. Got so bad we couldn't see the sun!
    Take care Shashi! hugs

    1. I was hoping I could spot one from the train. I would not want to meet one on foot Jen😀

    2. they tend to stay away from the tracks, more likely to see walking or driving around the hotel actually

  4. Shashi.... I must apologize. Well it wasn't my fault, but will still apologize. I was not getting notifications from Gmail about any comments on my blog. I didn't see your question about Vancouver until tonight, after someone emailed me directly to ask if I was getting my comments. I'm so sorry that I missed that, I might have been able to meet up with you in Vancouver. It looks like you had a great time though and I hope you were able to find some crafty things over there.

    1. No worries Ramona. I had a lovely time indeed and was so busy seeing all the sights that i did not actually go looking for crafty things. I did find so colour pens in one of my wanderings thats about it.

  6. Next time you are in Canada Shashi..... you absolutely have to call me and come to visit. We can drive to the Jasper area ...and, for sure I will be able to find you a bear. We won't bother to get out of the car though... he may think you look like a cute little snack and we could be in BIG trouble. But, through the car windows... they look good. On our way from Prince George to Calgary last drive.. (which takes 10 hours) we spotted a lovely Grizzly Bear.... but, Greg is afraid of bears and didn't even want to stop. For some reason he thought I might get out to take pictures.... I'm not that stupid!!
