Personal Challenge doll
Warning if you don't want to look at weird looking curvaceous bodies then look away!!!
I am doing the Personal Challenge doll in Sherry's group. I sewed the body parts and wanted the legs bent so that I could make the doll sit. Until I started to assemble the parts I didn't realise that to make the legs fit in a sitting position I would have had to alter the body a bit or have the legs in standing position. Since I wanted to avoid making a stand for the doll I didn't want straight legs. I joined the parts anyway and you can see how hilarious the doll looks.
So I decided that I would sculpt her body! Having no experience in doing a sculpt I just did what I thought was right and you can see the results down. Everytime I look at it I want to laugh lol! Oh well I think it will have to do. It is becoming a real challenge for me just because I wanted her to sit down lol!
Even Choc has a chuckle now and then looking at her. Bye the way he insisted on being in the picture.

A quick panel
I made this panel for a friend. I am not very good at making these panels for quilts etc so I just dyed it and painted it. Since I don't do much dyeing either I made a little bit mess of it so I had to camouflage it with some glitter as you can see the spots of glitter all around. I do hope my friend likes it. It doesn't look too bad actually but in the picture it looks aweful. The pearlised colours don't show up well either in the photo.

After much heartache
I have been making this Primitive Vintage doll from Nancy Williams class. I got her up to this point and was ready to bake
Guess what happened when I was baking. Her shoulder plate broke because I had removed the support from her shoulder plate and didn't realise that it would buckle under the weight of the head.
But now after much heartache she is finished. She didn't come out the way I wanted her to but anyway where polymer clay is concerned it is still a new medium for me and I am going through a big learning curve. I call her Wide eyed Wendy lol!. She looks as though she doesn't khow how she came to be after that disaster with her shoulder plate ha ha...

Our doll club's first swap!
On Saturday we had our doll club meeting. The ladies brought some lovely dolls to show and tell. We have such a talented and enthuciastic group. We had a wonderful time even though I could only stay for a short time. One of our members showed us to do Marbling with shaving cream on fabric. It is amazingly a very simple method that gets some wonderful results.
Our doll club was started only last year and we had our first swap of pin dolls. Sorry the pictures just wouldn't turn the right way round so you will have to look at it sidesways lol! Aren't they all lovely. We had a choice of free interenet patterns to choose from so we chose what we wanted to and made them up. Mine is the little orange elephant. I got the grey elephant in the swap.
Our next project is to do a round robin and I am looking forward to that. It will be great fun.

Hark! someone's muffled laugh, sound of tinkling jewels as someone moves about.
Something flashes and glitters, could it be the bindi or a jewel on the forehead
Hear the soft rustle of silk and a light tread
I wonder who it is. Perhaps it is the spirit of a Fairy Princess from far away lands of a begone Era
Thank you for visiting my blog and best of luck!!

First Hello of the New Year
Hello all hope you all are keeping well and your New Year started with lots of exciting things and for those who have had a trying past year I am wishing for good times to come your way.
Thought I'd share a few images of my holidays. We went to a bird sanctuary sorry can't show you the photos as my camera was not sophisticated enough to take photos of birds that were nesting far away. However here are some photos I took of a couple selling brightly coloured plastic toys in the village.
A lovely butterfly
A millipede curled up inbetween a crack in the stones.
A monkey who came too close to me so my camera shook as I got a bit nervous
A baby monkey trying to climb a tree.
A bit of doodling
Just trying to see if I remember how to paint lol! The apple looks a bit squashed up.
Glad to be back and blogging. I sure did miss you all.
