Yesterday morning I was so delighted to see that our water Lilly flowered for the first time. I was so excited about it :-) then I saw another bud coming up which I am sure will flower today. I was amazed at the speed at which the first one opened. I looked at it when it was just coming out of the water and then after five minutes when I looked it was completely out of the water and begining to open. After another five minutes it was almost fully open amazing! I have to keep the netting on the pond because we get early morning visits by the Heron. He thinks he can have his breakfast in our house :)
How beautiful! Your pond looks sparklingly clean and very pretty. We were told if you stand a ‘pretend’ Heron at the side of the pond it will keep real ones away – don’t know how much truth there is in it though. x
ReplyDeleteI too have hear that Barbara but I am not sure I want to take a chance :-)
DeleteIt's so beautiful and perfect it doesn't even look real does it? ....
ReplyDeleteBarbara's suggestion sounds like it could work... and, I've seen all sorts of nice ornament herons....I keep thinking I want one for my yard.... not that I have pond anymore...but, I love the elegant look of them.......
My neighbour thinks though it doesn't really work. Actually I remember I our previous house our neighbour used to have a heron and still his fish disappeared :-)
DeleteCongratulations! How gorgeous is that! (I've seen some rather nice metal heron statues on line....)
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous aren't they. I am hoping the other plant also will flower now
